"Error 1556" while resizing NTFS partition using PQDisk

Situation:
When you attempt to resize a partition using PQDisk, you see the message "Error 1556."

Solution:
Do the following to interpret the error message.

This problem has been reported to Symantec Technical Support. At this time, the exact cause or contributing factors to this problem have not been determined. We will update this document when new information or a solution is available.

As a workaround, use PQIDeploy to resize the partition, instead of PQDisk.
