Interpreting Errors in the 10000 range
Situation:
You see an error message in the 10000 range when running the Symantec PartitionMagic product. You want to know how to interpret this error message.
Solution:
Do the following to interpret the error message.
To determine the operating system error code
- Subtract 10,000 from the reported error code.
The difference indicates the exact error code.
- Click Start > Run.
- In the Open box, type the following command:
cmd.exe
- Click OK.
- In the cmd.exe Window, at the command prompt, type the following command and then press Enter:
net helpmsg xx
Where xx is the error number found after subtracting 10,000. For example if the error code was 10032, then the resulting error type in is 32.
- A brief description returns.
Technical Information:
Occasionally, ServerMagic, VolumeManager, or PartitionMagic may return an error in the 10000 range when running Windows NT. Errors within this range indicate operating-system-specific errors.
